Your choices are far more powerful than your circumstances. You may not like how complicated your life has become yet (with few exceptions) no one is forcing you to keep your life complicated.

You have the power to simplify your life. In fact, God expects us to assume responsibility for our lives and to carefully choose how we spend our time.

Galatians 6: 5For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

Simplifying is really about choices - prioritizing what is important - and then sticking to those choices no matter how tempting it is to add more to your to-do list. In fact, take those tempting activities and put them on a list of things not to do.

You are the only one who can assume responsibility for your time and clarify what's really important to you.

You have just enough time to do God's will while you're here on earth. You've been given just enough time to fulfill your purpose. When you try to do more than God planned for you, it's only natural that you'll find yourself constantly out of time or stressed over your schedule.

【勵志感人故事】別再擅長領域待太久

一位音樂系的學生走進練習室。鋼琴上，擺放著一份全新的樂譜。「超高難度。」他翻動著，喃喃自語，感覺自己對彈奏鋼琴的信心似乎跌到了谷底，消磨殆盡。

已經三個月了，自從跟了這位新的指導教授之後，他不知道，為什麼教授要以這種方式整人？勉強打起精神，他開始用十隻手指頭奮戰、奮戰、奮戰琴音蓋住了練習室外、教授走來的腳步聲。

指導教授是個極有名的鋼琴大師。授課第一天，他給自己的新學生一份樂譜。「試試看吧！」他說。樂譜難度頗高，學生彈得生澀僵滯錯誤百出。

「還不熟，回去好好練習！」教授在下課時，如此叮囑學生。學生練了一個星期，第二週上課時正準備中，沒想到教授又給了他一份難度更高的樂譜，「試試看吧！」上星期功課，教授提也沒提。

學生再次掙扎於更高難度的技巧挑戰。第三週，更難的樂譜又出現了，同樣的情形持續著，學生每次在課堂上都被一份新的樂譜剋死，然後把它帶回去練習，接著再 回到課堂上，重新面臨難上兩倍的樂譜，卻怎麼樣都追不上進度，一點也沒有因為上週的練習而有駕輕就熟的感覺，學生感到愈來愈不安、沮喪及氣餒。

教授走進練習室。學生再也忍不住了，他必須向鋼琴大師提出這三個月來、何以不斷折磨自己的質疑。

教授沒開口，他抽出了最早的第一份樂譜，交給學生。 「彈奏吧！」他以堅定的眼神望著學生。不可思議的事發生了，連學生自己都訝異萬分，他居然可以將這首曲子彈奏得如此美妙、如此精湛！

教授又讓學生試了第二堂課的樂譜，仍然，學生出現高水準的表現。演奏結束，學生怔怔地看著老師，說不出話來。

「如果，我任由你表現最擅長的部份，可能你還在練習最早的那份樂譜，不可能有現在這樣的程度。」教授，鋼琴大師緩緩的說著。

‧人，往往習慣於表現自己所熟悉、所擅長的領域。但，如果我們願意回首，將會恍然大悟，看似緊鑼密鼓的工作挑戰、永無歇止難度漸升的環境壓力，不也就在不知不覺間、養成了今日抗壓的諸般能力嗎？

在今天，我們的房子越來越大，但是家庭越來越小。
Today, our house is getting bigger and bigger, but our family, smaller and smaller.

生活越來越方便，但是時間卻越來越少。
 Life is easier, but time, less and less.

我們的學位越來越高，常識卻越來越少。
 Our education level is higher and higher, but common sense, less and less.

知識越來越多，判斷力卻越來越差。

Knowledge is getting more and more, but judgement becomes worse and worse.
 我們有更多的專家，但是也有更多的問題。

We have more professionals, but there are more and more problems.
 醫藥越來越好，但健康越來越少。

Medicine has improved greatly, but health is becoming worse and worse.
我們花費太多，歡笑太少。
 We expend a lot, but enjoy life very little.

車開得太快，火氣上來也更快。
 We drive cars very fast, but temper bursts out faster.

睡得太晚，閱讀太少，電視看得太多，而且禱告太少。
Sleep very late, read very little, view too much TV and pray very little.

Lots of rest, but little enjoyment.

更多食物卻更少營養。
 More food, less nutrition.

更多雙收入家庭，但更高的離婚率。
 More family income, more divorce cases.

更多千萬豪宅，但 卻更多破碎的家庭。
Many more millionaires, but more broken families. 

我建議，在今天這樣的世代，
 I propose.  In such an era,

你不要保留任何事情到特殊的場合才做，
You do not keep what you want to do till a specific time to do,

因為你活著的每一天都是特殊場合。
Because the day you are alive and kicking is the specific occasion you should do. 

勤加閱讀，追求知識，
Read more and obtain more knowledge. 

坐在你家的前廊上欣賞自然美景，
 Sit in your front veranda and enjoy the beauty of nature.

無需汲汲營營於生活需要。
Do not have to worry about life's essential needs.

多花時間與家人及好友在一起，
 Spend more time with your friends and families,

享受喜歡的食物，
 Enjoy your fond food.

到你喜愛的地方去遊覽。
 Travel to places you like to visit.

生命不只是為了存活，
 Life does not depend on maintaining one's existence.

WHICH DOG WINS? There is a never-ending battle in the life of every believer between the flesh and the Spirit. Have you noticed? Even when we surrender our lives to God, Satan continues to tempt us. We are never given a reprieve from temptation. So how do we wage this life-long battle? And who wins? I believe the answer is revealed in this story. An Alaskan trapper owned several dogs, two of which he trained to fight. Every month he would bring the dogsﾗone white and one blackﾗto town to fight. The townspeople would bet on the winner, sometimes betting on the black dog, sometimes on the white one. The owner of the dogs would bet, too - and he always won. One month he'd bet on the black dog, and the black dog would win. Another month he would gamble on the white dog, and the white dog would win. Some folks finally caught on, and asked the man his secret. "How do you know which dog is going to win?" they asked. "You're never wrong." The dog owner shrugged his shoulders, and said, "It's easy, really. The one who wins is the one I feed." Who's going to win in the battle between the Spirit and the flesh? That's easy, too. The stronger one is the one we feed. So we must set our minds on the things of God, seeking to please Him and be obedient to Him in all we do. In that way, we feed the Spirit, and insure victory over sin.

Romans 6:11

11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
